5G Network in India when 5G Active in India Jio 5G Network

5G Network in India  when 5G Active in India  Jio 5G Network

2G became famous in the country due to the net scam and it is not even known when 3G came and went. 4G captured us all in the phone. Now it's 5G's turn. The government had set a target of launching it in the country by 2020, but the spectrum has not been auctioned yet.

On the other hand, Mukesh Ambani has repeatedly said that my company Jio will launch 5G service in the country by next year. But is this possible? For what reason has the spectrum not been auctioned yet? What are the preparations of other companies besides Geo? What will change if 5G comes? Let us know the answer to each of these questions ...

The first thing is why the auction is taking so long?

In August 2018, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommended the auction of 5G spectrum. TRAI has recommended selling spectrum in the 3400 to 3600Mhz band for 5G service.

TRAI has fixed the price of one unit of spectrum at Rs 492 crore. The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has overstated the cost. According to COAI, the cost of spectrum in India is 40-50% higher compared to other countries.

Telecom companies other than Geo objected to such a high price. Not only that but a committee of the telecom department has recommended to provide cheaper spectrum for 5G. The auction of 5G spectrum was supposed to start in 2020 on the basis of TRAI's recommendation, but the auction could not take place due to Corona. Now the auction could take place in 2021.

The government in October demanded the Department of Space and the Ministry of Defense to vacate the spectrum for the auction of 5G spectrum. The government had asked the Ministry of Defense to clear the spectrum in the 3300-3400 Mhz and 3000-3100 Mhz bands. So the Department of Space requested to clear the spectrum in 3600-3700 Mhz.

What do companies have to say?

Geo alone has no objection to 5G spectrum prices. The other two big companies Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have a problem with this. The reason is also correct. Both companies are currently at a loss. Vodafone-Idea lost Rs 7,218 crore and Airtel Rs 763 crore in the September quarter.

Another reason is AGR or Adjusted Gross Revenue. The Supreme Court has ordered to pay the outstanding AGR in the next 10 years. Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have the highest AGR outstanding. Vodafone-Idea owes Rs 54,754 crore and Airtel Rs 25,976 crore.

Not only that, by September 2020, Airtel has a debt of Rs 88,251 crore and Vodafone-Idea has a debt of Rs 1.14 lakh crore. Due to such a huge debt, these companies cannot buy 5G spectrum. Until now, it was believed that Vodafone-Idea and Airtel would not participate in the auction if the prices remained the same. So the ground will be cleared for Gio.

How much will internet speed increase with 5G?

5G is the 5th generation of internet. Its speed will be up to 10GBPS. It allows the largest data to be downloaded or uploaded in seconds. 5G service has also been launched in many countries of the world. But there is not much speed yet.

Internet signal testing company Open Signal recently released a report on 5G speeds. According to the report, Saudi Arabia has the highest 5G download speeds in the world. The average download speed here is 377.2MBPS. Here the download speed on 4G is 30.1MBPS.

It can also be understood that 377.2 MB data can be downloaded in 1 second with 377.2MBPS download speed. That is, a 1G B movie will be downloaded in less than 3 seconds. However, Geo has asked for 1Gbps speed on 5G networks in India. If Geo gives such speed, 1GB movie will be downloaded in 1 second.

If our country has 4G, how much speed do we get?

The speed of 4G is said to be up to 1GBPS. But in our country its speed is very low. The 4G speed figures in the country till September have been given by Open Signal. Airtel had the highest download speed on 4G in the country in September. The download speed on Airtel's network was 10.4MBPS. Whereas, on Geo it was 6.9MBPS.

As well, Voda-Idea (VI) remained ahead in uploading. Its speed was 3.5MBPS. Airtel had 2.8MBPS and Jajio had 2.3MBPS. This means that even though the availability of 4G in the country is very high, the speed is getting very low.
